About the role

As part of the Finance Team, you will be responsible for leading the Accounting and Reporting function within the region. The position is responsible for ensuring robust accounting and reporting processes and thus secure information quality, compliance and diligent reporting to external and internal stakeholders. You will be in charge of setting the direction, building and leading a high performing team but also executing hands on transactions; whilst ensuring consistency maintained across the region where possible. The position is responsible for ensuring full compliance with both group accounting and reporting guidelines as well as with local statutory requirements. 

You will be in charge of a team of 6 people and will report directly to the Finance Director. 

Responsibilities 

  • All Financial Reporting (Internal and External, statutory and Government) 
  • Adherence to Global Accounting Manuals and therefore creating a valid single version of the truth that reflects the financial status of the company  
  • Accounting  - responsible for all postings in both sub & general ledger 
  • Monthend postings along with reconciliation of major balance sheet accounts 
  • Monthly Closing & Reporting Package Preparation  
  • Asset Tracking / Activation – Depreciation Runs  
  • Cash Flow analysis  
  • Tax calculations & reporting  
  • Supporting business projects from a finance perspective as well as driving finance initiatives (Regional & Global) 

Profile

Knowledge requirements  

  • Accounting (Expert), Tax, GAAP, Project management, Financial analysis
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, mainly Excel 
Educational level 

  • Past experience - 5+ years of experience within auditing, accounting or finance function, preferably within retail / multi-site business  
  • System skills – SAP with Tagetik desirable 
  • Language skills - Fluent oral and written English and Spanish(French would be a plus)

  • Experience in leading a team, able to flex between detail and big picture as required 
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills, for cooperating with stakeholders, internal and external 
  • Able to listen, draw conclusions and act 
  • Proactive - continuous improvement mindset 
  • Able to work under pressure in a dynamic environment and quickly be able to identify accounting problems and propose solutions; resilient under high pressured deadlines 
  • Good decision-making ability, as well as the ability to plan and prioritize the accounts and the financial work; organised, structured and detail-oriented 
  • Highly structured but also possesses flexibility and can-do attitude in order to find ways forwar
