Meet our Design Manager Youth
"My early dream was to become an architect, but along the way I fell in love with garments. I have always been interested in design, my mum tells me I had opinions on the look of my first toothbrush and how they could have made it so much better. My early dream was to become an architect, but along the way I fell in love with garments, we all wear them everyday and it is such a big part of your personality. But it also involves a lot of functions. I love the balance between the quick changes in fashion together with the timelessness within GANT and the high quality and sustainability mindset."
- Jenny, Design Manager Youth @ GANT
What do you do as Design Manager?
I take our seasonal stories and translate them into trends and stories for Teens and Kids. I work with the Design Managers for Men and Women, our fantastic Design Team, and a Graphic Designer on a daily basis to ensure our ideas go all the way down to each product and its details and graphics.
What skills do you need in your role?
You need to be creative, curious and up to date with what is going on around you. Also have an ability to build concepts, a great knowledge about products and details and of course lead and inspire the team towards a clear goal.
What's important to have when working within Design at GANT?
You have to have an understanding of American Sportswear and for the effortless style and quality level. You also need to be agile and open to change, a creative mindset and aim high.

How do you approach Sustainability?
A Kids piece from GANT is something that a young person can wear, grow out of, and pass forward several times to siblings or friends and it will still look the same, wash after wash. It’s something I’m proud of! For our youngest consumers we work with organic cotton, which feels fantastic for babies. We also work with recycled filling in all our puffer jackets. These are just a few examples as we continue our road to sustainability.
What do you enjoy most about working at GANT?
I love the effortless style that GANT stands for and the fantastic heritage we have with all kinds of colorful and collegiate pieces that we can make modern interpretations of. I am also very proud of our work within sustainability.
What does Never Stop Learning mean to you?
Never Stop Learning means that we can always be better by learning from our fantastic consumers. I also learn new things from my colleagues every day. There’s never a boring moment!
