About the role

The Compensation & Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing and supporting compensation, benefits, payroll, and people administration processes across Spain while contributing to selected global initiatives. The role ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in payroll and reward practices; provides guidance to leaders, employees, Global and Local PP&C teams; and drives continuous improvement in people administration processes. 

Compensation & Benefits 

  • Manage the compensation and salary review process for Spain  

  • Support the global compensation and salary review process in South, including the annual bonus payout cycle 

  • Manage equal pay analysis for South and contribute to the annual global equal pay analysis to ensure fairness and compliance 

  • Administration and maintenance of compensation and benefits programs in Spain and support in global benefits programs 

  • Actively support global Comp & Ben projects

  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and internal policies  

  • Provide guidance and support to People Business Partners, leaders and employees regarding compensation and benefits policies 

  • Responsible for the design, standardization and continuous improvement of people administration processes to ensure efficiency, compliance and scalability 

Payroll 

  • Act as the primary contact for all payroll-related queries from employees, leaders and authorities, ensuring timely and accurate resolution. 

  • Provide contracts and salary information to the payroll provider and ensure all data is accurate and up to date. 

  • Manage the monthly payroll process for Spain 

  • Oversee payroll reporting on a weekly, monthly and annual basis 

  • Lead the preparation and execution of annual internal and external payroll audits 

  • Serve as the main point of contact with outsourced payroll and pension providers 

People Administration 

  • Forward contracts and salary information to the outsourced payroll office, to control that all information is up-to-date and correct  

  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of employee files, payroll records, and People data 

  • Administration of health contribution benefit  

  • Monitor and report employee sick leave in line with legal and organizational requirements 

  • Maintain the HRIS (TalentPass), ensuring employee data and organizational charts are current 

  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding administration for new joiners and leavers 

  • Prepare ad hoc reports using Excel and HRIS to support business decision-making 

  • Contribute to process improvement by reviewing HR and payroll procedures and recommending enhancements 

Profile

Knowledge and skills  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Additional certification in payroll is an advantage 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll administration, compensation & benefits, or HR operations, preferably in an international environment 

  • Proven track record of managing payroll processes in Spain (knowledge of local labor law, tax regulations and social security systems required) 

  • Experience working with outsourced payroll providers and/or HRIS systems 

  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, compensation frameworks and HR administration practices 

  • Previous knowledge from UCAGECI   

  • Experience from time tracking system Quinyx as a plus 

  • Knowledge of ADP system is a big plus 

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to accuracy and compliance 

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and ability to prepare and analyze HR/Payroll reports 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees, leaders, and external partners 

  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion 

  • Proactive approach to process improvement and problem solving 

Language skills  

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
