About the role

We are looking for a commercial, hands-on and inspiring Head of Retail Area to lead performance, people and execution across our store network. 

This is a role for someone who loves retail reality. Someone who leads from the front, spends time on the shop floor, drives sales personally and builds high-performing teams that deliver results every day. 

You will be responsible for securing profitable growth, strong brand execution and operational excellence in all stores within your area. 

Key responsibilities 

Commercial & Operational Performance 

  • Responsible for Retail/Outlet Store Managers to maintain and develop the commercial and operational performance of each store, maximizing sales and profitability.

  • Set clear goals and expectations and ensure delivery through structured and frequent follow-up. 

  • Provide weekly analysis and KPI follow-up per store, including concrete action plans for stores falling behind targets. 

  • Analyze reports, identify gaps and opportunities, and translate them into business-driving activities. 

  • Identify sales patterns and trends and act proactively. 

Leadership & People Development 

  • Lead, coach and develop Store Managers and their teams to build a strong performance culture. 

  • Spend significant time in stores and on the floor, role modelling sales leadership and customer experience. 

  • Recruit, hire, train and ensure performance management standards in collaboration with the Retail Director and HR.  

  • Own succession planning and talent development within the area. 

  • Identify development needs and implement actions together with Head of Retail and Experience & Training. 

  • Lead quarterly real-life trainings in all stores, ensuring managers and teams are confident in using Omni tools and delivering on KPIs. 

  • Drive customer service excellence through GANT Academy programs. 

Omni Ownership & Change Leadership 

  • Own and drive omnichannel initiatives and ensure execution at store level. 

  • Act as the primary change leader for Omni in the area. 

  • Maintain deep knowledge of Omni systems (CRM, Endless Aisle, Click & Collect) and ensure teams are trained, confident and compliant. 

  • Secure that stores work seamlessly between physical and digital touchpoints. 

Retail Operations 

  • Conduct and report regular store visits to ensure standards and targets are met. 

  • Secure optimal staffing levels and intervene when stores are under- or overstaffed. 

  • Coordinate timing of refits, refurbishments and new openings together with Retail Operations. 

Profile

  • Strong retail knowledge, preferably within fashion

  • Minimum 7 years of retail experience, with solid leadership responsibility

  • Proven track record of driving sales and profitability

  • A true people leader – motivating, engaging and coaching

  • Highly structured with strong project and time management skills

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and making decisions

  • Professional level of English

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred
